The MCC professional family counseling services are offered by highly qualified counselors. MCC counselors provide the knowledge and skills needed to establish and maintain happy and productive families. MCC Family First services shall be provided to the general public and low-income families.

  • Marriage and relationship counseling service
  • Parenting counseling service
  • Teen and adolescent counseling service

Service Model

  • Standard paperwork/confidentiality/liability coverage
  • Client will call or submit an online request for an appointment
  • Services will be biweekly as a start and will be increased in frequency as needed
  • Wait time depends on counselors' availability and type of consultations needed

Dr. Afshana Haque Therapy, PLLC

Dr. Afshana earned a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX and a Master’s degree at the University of Houston Clear Lake in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Rhonda Kay Velders, MA, LPC, AAT, CEO

Rhonda Kay has trained specifically to help victims of physical and sexual assault learn to cope and heal from their horrific experiences. These victims, both male and female, children and adults, are taught to understand that setting goals for treatment is imperative to their recovery.

Shahrzad Afshinyekta Yekta, MA, LPC, LMFT

Shahrzad Afshinyekta is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, behavioral health consultant, and coach. With over 8 years of experience, she specializes in resilient based, trauma informed care and helps a culturally diverse range of families and individuals navigate their new life circumstances or adjust to their environments. Some of her areas of expertise include couples counseling, adolescent counseling, family counseling, trauma, crisis management, depression and anxiety management, sleep management, immigrant/refugee readjustment, and workplace consultation (employee self-care, cultural diversity, etc).

Saima Husaini, MEd, LPC-S

Saima Husaini is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with the State of Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. After completing her graduate degree in Arizona, Saima was also certified as a K-12 school guidance counselor in the State of Arizona and had the opportunity to work in the middle school setting. She has experience in the college environment in the field of educational and career counseling as well. Upon returning to Texas, Saima enrolled at the University of Houston to complete further studies in the clinical field of counseling psychology and human behavior. She has earned extensive experience working inpatient at psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, and in private practice setting working with adults, couples, and families. Currently, Saima works in a group private practice at Hope & Harmony Therapy, LLC.
